Our Programs

Diploma Prep Sessions

Exam

The Diploma Help Sessions by the EEES Team offer targeted tutoring to students preparing for their high school diploma exams. These sessions are focused on providing the educational support you need, whether you're looking to strengthen your grasp of core subjects or simply wish to fine-tune your skills before the exams. With our help sessions, you'll gain access to expert tutors who can guide you through key concepts, answer your questions, and offer personalized instructional feedback.

Set to resume this upcoming winter season, the program creates an inviting, supportive environment where students can freely ask questions and discuss any topics relevant to the diploma exams. The registration deadline for these winter sessions is December 1, 2024, and we encourage early applications due to the high level of interest.

Mentorship Program

Teacher Assisting a Student

The Edmonton Education Equality Society takes pride in mentoring students from diverse walks of life at the junior high and high school level. The program is designed to allow students to engage one on one with discipline-specific mentors who aid in helping youth acquire new opportunities as well as guide them through existing ones. Through one on one guidance, the program aims to encourage students to get involved in the community while simultaneously cultivating skills to prepare them for university.

Through this program, youth will be able to engage with mentors and ask pertinent questions regarding their career pursuits. Mentors will be able to help guide mentees to gaining access to resources and develop confidence in their abilities. Through the encouragement of an enthusiastic mentor, the program will best allow students in need to be guided towards admission to post-secondary education as well gain early experience tailored towards their career.

Please note: due to the recent volume of applications, preference will be given to students currently enrolled in high school

Essential Skills and Leadership program

The Essential Skills and Leadership program consists of a series of monthly workshops tailored to provide youth with key skills to obtain opportunities, develop leadership skills and foster community connections. The goal of this program will be to better educate youth on how to create resumes and cover letters, learn about different university majors and careers, as well as provide them with access to jobs and volunteering opportunities. The program will be designed to help youth get a head start on gaining experience that will allow them to progress in their academic pursuits and expand their career options. These workshops also aim to foster leadership skills and community engagement among youth and introduce them to grassroots level organizing.
